Favourite thing about the YSLP
Seeing young people flourish as they lead STEM and become role models for others- debunking stereotypes on their journey. The programme not only allows young people to engage with STEM in a positive way but, importantly, it builds and develops life skills in leadership and communication.
It's such a privilege to work with so many practioners and I'm inspired everyday by the creative work that they're doing to support our STEM Leaders.

Supporting our Trained Tutor Assessors and watching them inspire our young people to become Young STEM Leaders in a fun and engaging way. Seeing first hand how the Young STEM Leader Programme motivates our young people to progress in their STEM studies and perhaps eventually embark on a career in STEM.
Favourite thing about the YSLP
It is a privilege to be part of such a fantastic programme that allows young people to explore STEM subjects early on to discover what they enjoy and start to fuel that passion.
Growing up in Europe this isn't something that was available to me at that age so it is truly special to see it happen now and be part of the Team that bridges that gap and supports the journey of the young people of today!
Favourite thing about the YSLP
I am delighted to be involved in promoting this very worthwhile, engaging STEM programme to as many young people and facilitators as possible. I have loved seeing my own pupils reap the benefits, so my favourite part is knowing I am helping to provide more people with the same opportunity to thrive.

What I enjoy most about the Young STEM Leader Programme is giving young people the opportunity to step up and lead. Seeing learners grow in confidence, develop real leadership skills, and inspire others through STEM is what makes the programme so rewarding. I love that it encourages teamwork, creativity and problem-solving while helping pupils recognise the difference they can make.

Delivering the YSLP is a highlight of mine as a Primary School Teacher. I am passionate about the ethos of the YSLP which empowers learners to succeed within STEM and develop life-long skills, whilst also challenging their misconceptions in a supportive way. I enjoy delivering effective professional learning sessions to a variety of practitioners which, in turn, prepares the next generation for learning, life and work!

Favourite thing about the YSLP
It was a privilege to work in the Young STEM Leader team for three years prior to becoming a science teacher. What excites me most is seeing the wonderful and inventive leadership activities delivered by YSLs and the impact that has on their peers. I’m excited to support new and existing Tutor Assessors in the West of Scotland as an ARTAV.
Favourite thing about the YSLP
From my own experience, the programme offers so much more to children and young people than the development of STEM skills. It opens up a wide variety of experiences and opportunities, allows them to develop skills and confidence that will serve them well throughout their lives and prepare them for employability in the 21st century.

Delivering the Young STEM Leader Programme is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role as a Primary School Teacher. I am passionate about providing meaningful STEM experiences that develop learners' confidence, leadership and employability skills. Seeing pupils grow into capable Young STEM Leaders, inspiring their peers and younger learners, as well as developing skills for life, learning and work is incredibly fulfilling.
Favourite thing about the YSLP
The Young STEM Leader Programme has allowed me to engage pupils in STEM who previously held the opinion that it "wasn't for them". Watching the creativity, leadership, and resilience exhibited by these pupils has been a highlight of my teaching career. Becoming an ARTAV has allowed me to take inspiration from other Tutor Assessors.
